Video Recaps

First hand halo into stalls, warrior and reverse waist hooping

Instructor notes, reminders from class: A quick skill refresher and recap from the move we learned in class. Not intended as a tutorial. We begin with first hand halo, for a right hooper. (Left hand, hoop spinning clockwise, feet turning to the right. If you hoop to the left, you'll begin with first hand halo in your RIGHT hand, hoop spinning counterclockwise and feet turning to the left.) For the stall, remember that your catch points are at either 3 or 9 and the hoop does NOT cross the mid-line. You pause/grab the hoop when it is over your free shoulder. With hands at sides and hoop in grip, raise and lower your hoop as you turn. The more quickly you turn, the more spiral the effect. Then remember Warrior crosses the mid-line, and you twist so that you can unwind and send the hoop spinning on your hand in halo in the reverse direction. You will finish hooping on your waist in your reverse direction.
